As the new academic year starts, St Luke’s is waving off several of our young people to university for the first time (we’re proud of you all and we’ll miss you – come back and visit soon!).
Meanwhile, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to any students in London. Perhaps you’re away from home for the first time, finding your feet in the big city and hoping to find a church community and some friendly faces. Or maybe you’re already established at college or university, but you’re looking for like-minded people and a church that suits you.
Whatever your circumstance, you’d be very welcome at any of our events – the most popular is our 11am Sunday service – where you can meet us and get a taste of St Luke’s. Our inclusive community is made up of people of all ages and backgrounds, supporting each other and journeying together.
St Luke’s has recently become a ‘link church’ with the Student Christian Movement (SCM), which means we’ll be listed in their online directory as an open, welcoming church that people might like to check out. SCM is a student-led movement that brings students together from different denominations and traditions to deepen faith, learn from one another, celebrate diversity and work together for justice. To learn more or to find a local group, visit www.movement.org.uk.
So to any London students: do come along to St Luke’s – and make yourself known if you feel a bit lost in the crowd. We’d love to meet you!
